At Mayfair Building Group, we can build you a home of your dreams.  Your new home will be tailored to your needs and personalised to your unique design.

Our company is not a volume home builder, and we only take on a limited number of new homes at a time to ensure high-quality outcomes and milestone goals along the way are always met.

Each home we build is different and is built to suit each client’s personal touch.  Every project is handled as its own build, ensuring each house is unique.  Working with a boutique home builder will ensure you get the house of your dreams on a time frame that works.

Why Choose The Mayfair Building Group For Your New House

We are used to working on unique blocks such as sloping land or odd-shaped boundaries.  Our team can help build your dream home in remote locations in the Adelaide Hills.  Our portfolio stretches to the Fleurieu Peninsula and Yorke Peninsula of South Australia.  Having performed numerous projects in Adelaide’s Eastern and Inner Southern suburbs, we have built a reputation for a careful eye to detail and on-point project management.  Communication from the start of the project through to the end of the job is the key focus of our building process.

Helping you get the perfect home is our passion, and to do this, we use local architects and engineers who understand what various government and local authorities will require from the design process and help streamline the entire design and approval process.

    Changes In The Housing Market

With an increasing focus every year on energy preservation, each project must achieve minimal energy certificate ratings.  Back in the early 2000’s the minimum energy requirements for a new home were 5 stars; today, we are targeting 7-star energy ratings on a new home building in South Australia.

To achieve high energy ratings, we consider a few key elements:

    • Orientation of the house and room design
    • Minimising open spaces
    • Higher R-value insulation
    • Selection of external wall cladding
    • Green energy consumption
    • Using solar panels and batteries
    • Harvesting rainwater for irrigation and toilet water
    • Double and triple-glazed glass
    • Minimising penetrations in ceilings
    • Colour selection externally

When building houses in remote locations, there are other things to consider, such as BAL levels.  What is the Bush Fire Activity Level rating, and what needs to be considered to minimise the destruction of a property during a bush fire?

We offer new home building services in Adelaide. Experienced project managers and tradesman for your dream house build.

Elevations of new home buildings have seen the land slope to the rear, meaning conventional methods of removing sewer and stormwater from a site are not possible.  We are introducing pumping chambers that move the liquids into the SA Water sewer systems and the water table via pumping chambers in the ground.

It is with the unusual layouts of blocks of land that we also need to import fill, and this means key elements such as footings and piers are increased to compensate for imported fill.

Retaining walls have become more popular as people choose to build on sloping blocks of land.  All these items do increase the cost of the building project, but land is becoming harder to find near the CBD, so the investment in higher build costs can allow for closer living to the city.
